We have known the benefits of beeswax in our last article. Now here are some common questions of beeswax, and Henan Green Wrap Products , as the first manufacturer of beeswax wrap in China, shares them with you.
What can I wrap?
Wrap beeswax around a piece of food or a bowl or casserole dish with warm hands. When beeswax cools – in seconds – it will stay sealed. Use beeswax to wrap cheese, vegetables, bread, fruit, fresh herbs and baked goods. beeswax is not recommended for use with raw meat or fish.
What is the shelf life of beeswax?
beeswax lasts up to one year with proper care and regular use. You will know that your wrap is at the end of its useful life in the kitchen because it has worn thin and soft and is hard to stick to itself. At this point, you can cut the wrap into strips and add it to your compost pile, or use it as a natural and effective ignition agent.
How do I maintain my wraps?
Simple! Simply wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Then, drape your wrap over your drying rack or our Vermont Maple beeswax drying rack to air dry. Please remember to avoid all heat sources, including warm water, microwaves, ovens, hot cars, and leftovers that are not completely cooled on the cover.
What is beeswax made of?
Materials: beeswax is made from GOTS certified organic cotton, sustainably sourced beeswax, organic jojoba oil and tree resin. This combination of ingredients creates a malleable food wrap that can be used over and over again.
What is VEGAN beeswax made of?
The new vegetarian wrap is made from familiar plant-based ingredients. We use beeswax instead of chaparral wax, a plant native to the Southwest and Mexico that has similar properties to beeswax. We also use soy wax, organic coconut oil and tree resin to provide you with pliable food wraps that have the same look and feel as our line of beeswax.
Does beeswax have a scent?
Yes. When you first open the package of beeswax, you will smell the scent of beeswax. After the first few uses and washes, the scent will fade away until you no longer notice it. The smell of beeswax varies with the season of harvest. Beeswax has the scent of the flowers from which the bees collect pollen. Most of us like this scent, but there are a few people who are more sensitive to beeswax and do not like it.
What size is best for my needs?
We manufacture beeswax in a variety of sizes. If you are not familiar with our products, we recommend starting with our three size combo packs, which include one each of our small, medium, and large wraps. Try these sizes in your kitchen to determine which one works best for you.
